Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of ChannelDax. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

Last updated: August 18, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and ChannelDax (“we,” “us,” or “our”) for access to channeldax.com and related applications, APIs, and features (the “Service”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Related policies: Privacy Policy.

1. YouTube Terms of Service

ChannelDax is an independent application that uses YouTube API Services. By using ChannelDax, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You also acknowledge Google’s YouTube API Services Terms of Service.

YouTube is a third-party service. We do not control YouTube’s availability, content, quotas, or policies. Your use of YouTube through ChannelDax remains subject to YouTube’s rules, including any age, content, and community guidelines YouTube publishes.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract and meet any age requirements in YouTube’s Terms. You create an account by signing in with Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to that Google account secure.

We may refuse, suspend, or close accounts that violate these Terms, YouTube’s Terms, applicable law, or that create security, abuse, or operational risk for the Service or other users.

3. The Service, “as is”

ChannelDax helps you discover, organize, and (where you opt in) subscribe to YouTube channels using catalog data, your imported subscriptions, preference quiz answers, custom lists, and optional Ask AI features.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that:

  • the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free;
  • recommendations, embeddings, classifications, or Ask AI responses will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose;
  • YouTube, Google, or other third-party APIs will remain available or will not change, throttle, or reject our requests;
  • daily or monthly API quotas (including YouTube Data API quota) will be sufficient for your use.

Features may be added, changed, rate-limited, or discontinued. We may pause or degrade parts of the Service when Google or YouTube quota is exhausted, when a provider is down, or when we need to protect the platform.

4. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ChannelDax AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM:

  • downtime, bugs, or maintenance of the Service;
  • YouTube or Google API outages, quota limits, policy enforcement, or token revocation;
  • content you encounter on YouTube or in user-created public lists;
  • account suspension or feature limits described in these Terms.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-export the catalog, lists, or other Service data except through documented product features;
  • abuse Ask AI or other AI endpoints (including flooding, automated extraction at scale, resale of outputs, or attempts to bypass usage caps);
  • reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the Service, or attempt to access other users’ accounts or non-public APIs;
  • use ChannelDax to violate YouTube’s Terms, Google’s API policies, or any law, including unauthorized access or copyright infringement;
  • publish public lists or other user-generated content that is unlawful, harassing, or clearly intended to spam or defraud others.

We may investigate suspected abuse, throttle or block requests, and suspend or terminate accounts. We may also cooperate with YouTube, Google, or law enforcement when required.

6. Custom lists and public list moderation

Your lists

Signed-in users on eligible account tiers may create custom lists of catalog channels, keep them private, or make them public. Private lists are visible only to you. Public lists may be opened by anyone with the link and may appear in Explore or similar discovery surfaces.

You retain whatever rights you have in list names and descriptions you write. You grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the Service (including public pages and social previews) while the list is public or otherwise shared through the product.

Moderation

Public lists are user-generated. We do not pre-approve every list. We may unpublish, hide, edit metadata, or delete a public list, and may restrict list-creation privileges, if we reasonably believe the list or account violates these Terms, YouTube’s Terms, or applicable law, or creates safety or abuse risk. Making a list private does not guarantee that cached copies or search snippets disappear immediately.

7. Account tiers and limits

New accounts start on the Standard tier unless we tell you otherwise. We may also offer a Pro (or other paid) tier. Leftover “free” accounts, if any, have restricted product access.

Depending on your tier, we may limit:

  • the number of custom lists you can keep (Standard is capped; Pro may be higher or unlimited);
  • Discover Subscribe actions per calendar month (Pacific time);
  • Add Channel uses per calendar month (Pacific time);
  • Ask AI messages per calendar month (Pacific time).

Current numeric caps are shown in the product and are configured by us; they may change. Classification and embedding are not currently usage-capped, but we may add limits if needed to protect quota or cost. Unused monthly allowances do not roll over. Exceeding a cap may block the related action until the next period or until you change tiers, if a higher tier is available.

8. YouTube access and third-party services

Optional YouTube connection uses Google OAuth so we can import subscriptions and, when you use Discover Subscribe, subscribe on your behalf. You can revoke that access as described in our Privacy Policy. Revoking access or YouTube policy changes may disable related features.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account from Account settings. We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you violate these Terms, if required by YouTube or Google, if we discontinue the Service, or to protect users or the platform. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends. Sections that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, liability limits, and licenses needed to wind down public content) survive termination.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
